Dr. Ferdinand Bartels will assume the position of CEO of SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH from July 1, 2014
Dr. Ferdinand Bartels began his career in the field of microtechnology and semiconductor technology. After receiving a doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Material Science in Stuttgart, and a research spell as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the USA, he took up senior positions in various well-respected technology companies. He became the CEO of a company in the field of nanotechnology before moving to SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH.
“From his previous positions, Dr. Ferdinand Bartels has gained a great deal of technical and managerial expertise in the field of material science, surface science and nanotechnology. This experience makes him the optimum choice as CEO of SPECS,” said Gerd Petrik, the proprietor of SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH.
Dr. Bartels will head the company together with co-CEO Sharon Petrik.
