(a) to (c) STM images of a 0.2 ML, b 0.4 ML, and c 0.6 ML C60 molecules on AnCA (anthracene carboxylic acid) phase-B template. (d) Schematic model of C60 on AnCA phase-B template. The blue square in b is magnified as the inset to show the same lattice parameters presented in AnCA template and C60 dimer structure. D1 and D2 dimers are marked with white and black double arrows in the inset of c and colored in blue and yellow in the model, respectively. The preferential and less favorable adsorption sites for C60 on phase-B template are signed with X and Y, respectively.
